Many seniors have already applied or in process of applying to colleges. Most do not yet know which college they will attend. Many colleges evaluate student applications for academics and other areas and automatically award grants and/or scholarships. But there are also many scholarship opportunities that require separate application. Students should apply for these scholarships at all of colleges to which they've applied, even if they have not yet been been accepted! Many colleges have scholarship application deadlines in February or March. Check each college's web site for information on applying. Most applications require school transcripts and/or letters of recommendation, so remember to get the application to your guidance counselor in time for he/she to submit before the deadline. The Counseling Center likes to receive the paperwork from the students at least two weeks before the are due at the college.
